The new Look

Hair is one of those features that just makes a big difference on how you look... I have always dreamed of having long gorgeous locks, but unfortunately I was not blessed with that feature and when I try growing it out, instead of having gorgeous healthy looking hair I dream of, it looks damaged and stringy.

With the combination of stringyness and the root color growing back in, I couldn't help but sigh/whine a bit every time I looked in the mirror.

So. . . I finally took a leap and got a hair cut and darkened my hair a bit.

When Daniel came home that night he ran up to me, kissed me and said, "Wow! You Look GOOD, I absolutely love your hair! He raved and raved about it throughout the week and told me he hopes I always keep my hair this length.

He even told me I looked more mature and older. . . (you mean I don't look like I'm in High School anymore ha)

It sure made me feel like a million bucks and of course helped me like it more myself.

Still was hard to get used to for the first couple of days, but I'm liking the fact Little mister Calvin can't grab it anymore.

Calvin is growing up so fast, he can lift his head up by himself while lying on my legs, he talks up a storm before bedtime just like he did in the womb except he moved instead of talked. He is grabbing things a lot more and can almost roll over.

Well I guess I'll tell you about my Birthday and the fun things I got to do...

The sad part about this whole post is I did not take one picture. How could I do such a thing on such a Awesome day (groundhogs, my bday) you ask? Well. . . I don't know.

The day started out great. Daniel didn't have class because he had exams all week so we got to snuggy and eat Yummy French Toast with bananas that he made.

Mom came down to celebrate along with Shelbs and Daxton

Another thing that is remembered on Feb 2 is Jimmy Jr. Life.

Moms siblings and grandma all gathered at Mimmi's and Susie's shop to show their love and support. Such a loving act and I know Susie and Mimmie appreciated them being there as they go through the heartache of losing their son.

Next we went to my most favorite sandwhich place.... Pita Pit.

I go here every year for my Birthday. It's so delicious I could never get sick of it.

We had fun chit chatting and being together.

I got to help out with Achievement Days and ate some tasty Japanese pancakes.

Calvin and I had some bonding time.

For dinner I didn't want to go out to eat, I wanted Daniel to make me Homemade Lasagna and his famous bread sticks. It's probably one of my very favorite meals, but since he had his exam, he didn't get home until 6:45, so we headed into town. I could not make a decision of where to go and the deciding factor was I got a free appetizer at Chili's so that became the winner. I even got free dessert too.

On Saturday Daniel treated me to night out to BYU Men's Volleyball Game. He knows how much I love volleyball and this was his first time going to a game. I think he's converted now. it was an intense game except for the fact they lost 3-0. Before the game Dan made lasagna and bread sticks and had the pleasure of having Kelsi, Jason, Shelby and Brandon join us. After the game we all gathered back here to have cake and ice cream.
Thanks everyone for the fun filled weekend and all the kind words, thoughts and deeds you gave to me to make my day extra Special.

Dating made easy and a fun craft idea

Creativity! Oh how I've missed you in my life for the past few years.

Now that I am a graduated Lady, my long list of projects I have been wanting to do around the house is finally getting started. I have had all these ideas, but when I had school it was merely impossible to get any them started or completed. BUT.. now that I'm a stay-at-home momma....

My creative juices are beginning to emerge once again. Hoorah.

This first project I gave as a Stocking gift to Daniel this past Christmas. It's a date Jar filled with dates to do throughout the year. I haven't finished but I am going to color coordinate the paper with summer and winter dates. I found some creative date ideas from Dating Divas, my dear sister-in-law Makana, and even came up with a few on my own.

Some date ideas are
1. Have each person design andmake a boat out of things around the house. Then, take them to a river/streamand race them.

2. Walk to a local bakery or cupcake shop. There is something about walking toa bakery with someone you care about…maybe because I am obsessed with food? Ifyou do not live next to a bakery then surprise your sweetheart by parking a fewblocks away and packing a back pack with a blanket, games, fun drinks... If yougo to a cupcake shop make sure you get a few varieties and share them.

3. Thrifty Trends Date Idea-Live it up! Buy a new game, movie, book, or sporting equipment that you coulduse on your date all for under $10. Visit a local thrift store (yes, they maystink) and pick up some new activities. We have done this a few times andcontinue to benefit from our cheap purchases. It is a great way to save moneyand Live it up! :)

4. Living Room Camp-Out-Get anything you have that makes you feel like your camping out and set it upin your living room (i.e. camping chairs, turn off the lights and useflashlights, blanket…). Make tin foil dinners in your oven for the dinner.Search the internet for unique tin foil dinner recipes.

This project I did before Calvin was born, but I never finished it until a few days ago. As most of you all know, one of Daniel's most favorite thing in the whole world is golfing, well besides Me and Calvin, of course. SO... I came up with this grand idea to assemble a Golf themed room for Mister Calvin. I had some ugly maroonish brown colored frames that I painted blue.. however, the blue was way too bright and tacky looking, so I painted them an off white color and sanded it down for the blue to bleed through. Before I painted the frames, I hot glued golf balls inside the frames and spelled Calvin's name on the golf balls... and Voila

That pig in the background was given to Calvin by Grandpa and Grandma Kunze.

Christmas Gift from Dear Lexi

We were so impressed with Lexi's gift and loved every part of it. I don't know if she knew that both Daniel and I love quotes but it was a genius idea. We like to put quotes in a place where we can see it everyday. Lexi made us this fridge quote board and made all of these darling magnets.

She made us a hot plate that has China, Brazil and Ukraine on it.

They are perfect since daniel just broke one of our hot pads.

This gift is absolutely astounding, I love it so much because she decorated each letter pertaining to either mine or daniel's hobbies. i love the word Gratitude because it will be a constant reminder for our family to express Gratitude to one other as well as remember how much the Lord blesses us every single day. It also reminds me of how each of us has many gifts and talents that we shouldn't take for granted.

She Even carved a few letters herself because there was none at the store. Pretty darn talented miss Lexi is. I tried blowing up the picture so it would show how cute and amazing each letter is but it still doesn't come close to the real thing.

Calvin had his baby blessing on New Years Day (for those of you weren't able to attend) and got to share this special occasion with his cousin Lucy (Matt & Asher's little girl). Here they are together, posing for the camera looking like little married babes. They look like siblings, Calvin just has a bigger head.

Calvin's darling little outfit was given to us by our lovely and sweet friend Brenda Wright (Ella's mom) she sure spoiled Calvin with lots of clothes.

This past weekend we got to enjoy a fun evening with mom/dad and Shelby/Brandon at the Brian Regan Comedy show. I laughed so much and so hard that my jaw got so sore I couldn't take it any longer. On the ride home we laughed even more because we would retell the jokes... Throughout the week things would remind me of his jokes and I would start busting up. So it has been a very happy laughy week.

I sure Love to laugh, loud and long and clear. Thanks mom and dad for taking us.

Calvin went for his 2 month appointment the other day (although he's almost 3 months) and got his shots. I hate shots it just breaks my heart to see him so happy then in 2 seconds crying and crying 'mom why did you let them do that??' He was a tough boy and he is his happy self again. So when he was born he weighed 6.5 lbs but now he's a whopping 12.5 lbs he has doubled in weight! He's getting to be a chunk but according to the percentiles he's only 38th... there must be some big 'o babies out there.

First Halloween

For Halloween this Year I had a Fantastic idea for mine and Daniel's costumes. Unfortunately since baby (ha i keep forgetting I can call him Calvin now) came early I was not able to do it.... But I'll still tell you my grand idea. I had spent most of Thursday making Daniel's part of the costume (thinking now I should have taken a pic of it-- because now it is all pinkished up---darn)
Daniel's costume... I made him a sweet car!! It even had real lights. I put two slits in the box and placed two batterized candles in the slits, placed a clear plastic cup over the top w/red silky paper (used for presents) when you turned the lights on it made the red turn orange! So cool.
My Costume... me in all black with yellow dash marks going down my entire body wearing a construction hat with a sign on it saying Speed Bump Ahead.

I hope you get it or else I'll be saddened. You'll have to ask Lex to send pics of what happened to that car I had a blast making but never got to use.

Last Friday we had a Halloween Party with Daniel's family! Calvin got a skunk hat from a relative so I wanted to dress him up as a skunk but unfortunately the hat was way too big for his head. Maybe next year. So instead he was a frog with his froggy outfit and froggy blanket and froggy stuffed animal. (sorry forgot to take a pic)

On Saturday he was a Rock and Roll dude!

Sunday he was a missionary!

Shae came to visit and she was so excited to come see him that we had a replay of how excited she was as she ran and jumped onto Daniel. She loved every minute of being with him and would pounce on every opportunity to hold him. She's going to be the best mommy

Then on Halloween we dressed him up as an AllStar.. he wasn't too happy with me as I kept trying to snap Pictures of him instead of feeding him.

Mom and Dad finally Got to see Calvin Last Tuesday!! I was in my bedroom and I could hear her running up the stairs as fast as she could while saying . . . I have to See my BABY!!! It was so cute! Calvin was so happy to meet them both.

Our little Miracle

Friday October 21, 2011 I was blessed to have my darling little Calvin come to the Earth. It was unexpected for he wasn't due until November 1 and I wasn't having any complications, but I am so happy he is here and I didn't have to wait any longer to have him.

I can't explain how wonderful a feeling I have felt since he has been in our arms. I have been quite emotional and there has been countless times when I have been sitting staring at him and I can't help but get all teary eyed because of how much love I have for this sweet little angel. I also can't thank my Heavenly Father enough for blessing me with such a beautiful healthy boy.

I seriously am the happiest Mom ever!!

He has such a strong spirit and when we came home from the hospital Daniel mentioned how there was such a strong and sweet spirit in our home now. He kept whispering to me and then said "why am I whispering, ha ha well because it's like the Temple you don't want to talk loudly in such a Spiritual place."

This was in our room at the hospital and I absolutely love it.

It rings clear as a bell of truthfulness.

So the story if you haven't heard is this. . .

We went for our normal checkup that morning at 9:00 a.m. and when my Doctor checked me I was dilated to a 4 and when she measured his heart rate it was in the 110-115 and I was also measuring at 36 weeks when I was 38 weeks. A couple weeks ago we had the same problem so she sent us to Labor and Delivery to get a Non-Stress Test. When we went a couple weeks ago everything was fine. So when she told us to go again she was like make sure to bring a bag of supplies just in case. I kept telling Daniel on our way to the hospital that I was not ready to have him and I just could not have him today. Since nothing was wrong 2 weeks ago I didn't think anything would be wrong this time. Both Dan and I never had a calm feeling the entire time we were there so deep down we knew we were going to deliver that day.

They measured his heart rate for 25 minutes and also measure the amniotic fluid. The nurse measured 5.8 which is borderline low and to double check it was accurate she got a specialist to come measure but she measured at 5.4 meaning way too low and that at this point its better for him to be out than in.

After measuring they left. um Hello.. we are still here wanting to know what's going on!!!

The nurse came back in and told us well you guys can thank me your going to have a baby TODAY!

I started getting teary eyed because I was nervous and because my Mother would not be there with me. I couldn't believe it. I still felt like anytime they'd be like HA just kidding you can go home.

Nope. We are having a baby today. A funny thing was I had planned a Halloween Party that night for all my friends and told them I wanted to do a week early in case I would deliver the following week. Ha Guess Calvin didn't want to miss out on the Party.

They induced me and I received an epidural after feeling only a few bad contractions.

My doctor told me I had bragging rights for a first time mom because I was only in labor for about 5-6 hours and only pushed for 14 minutes!

Calvin R Stephens was born at 7:13 p.m. weighing 6.5 lbs and 18 inches long.

What a miracle that came into our life that night!!

My final Bridal Shower was with both side's of Daniel's Family. It was an open house and I loved seeing everyone. the food was delicious like always!! I failed to take pictures but I did get to capture this lovely diaper cake my sister in law Kristy made for me. I got lots and lots of diapers and cute outfits with other fun baby clothes

Next I want to brag about my sister Shelby and how amazing and talented she is. She was very kind and thoughtful to ask as well as want to take maternity pictures of me. Shelby has always been the one to volunteer to do things for others and I admire that about her. I also am amazed with how talented she is, seriously there isn't anything she can't do. She used to tell me when I was in high school that I was the creative and artsy one, but she was most definitely wrong! She continues to astonish me with her amazing art abilities and creativeness. I am so impressed with her ability to make beautiful things and express them in so many different ways... (words, interior design, pictures, clothes, art, etc) Not only does she have a natural gift but she is always looking for ways to improve and learn new skills, turning into another gift/talent she possesses. Here is an example of her beautiful artwork.... Brandon has done photography for years now and Shelby has never taken a class and these pictures are phenomenal. i am very pleased and absolutely love them! So if you ever need a photographer, Shelby has a gift! With Brandon and her together masterpieces are produced!

The State Waffle Shop:
So Kelsi came up with a great idea to have waffles every Sunday morning and a couple weeks ago we did just that. She came over and we mixed up some pretty awesome waffles, but the taste was not only that made up their awesomeness it was also each of their shapes...

My lovely sisters and mother put on a Beautiful shower a few weeks ago for me and my baby to be. I am so lucky to have such amazing artistic, creative and the best family members ever because the shower was darling. I loved every thing about it... the food (little jr. loved this as well), decorations, entertainment, and the people that were there. (I missed those who weren't able to come) I received a lot of fun and cute gifts. Thank you everyone for your love and support. These pics were taken by Shelbs.. since I neglected to take pictures of my own.

Shelby made this delicious strawberry short cake. It was delicious and to die for and may I add it looked fabulous so no one wanted to cut into it.

No i'm not the cute decoration more of the big pumpkin of the show. So after I opened my presents I felt even more unprepared because I had not thought about getting the some of the things I was given, but i guess I feel a little more prepared.
It's a good thing they do showers because I would be completely lost in what to get.

Now that I have most everyone's guesses on when little jr. will be born and how big he'll be if anyone else wants to guess that wasn't there.. take your Guess. (oh and Lexi meant to put Oct. 31 she thought Halloween was on the 30th)

pic of the diapers: one of the activities people got to do was write little messages for me and pin them on the diapers i will get to change or should I say Daniel gets to change. One that was said out loud that I had a good kick out of was from my Mother-in-law "Don't ever change him in the Dark!" Such good advice.
It sure was fun seeing cousins, aunts and grandma and of course my sisters and mother.

First Baby Shower

So in High School I never had one best friend. I had 7!!! We did everything together mostly laughing and going on adventures. I am so grateful to each one of them because they all helped me in some way another throughout my high school days and they continue to do so through their love. I am so lucky to have had friends that all had such good standards and tried to do what's right amongst all the pressures! Thanks for your sweet examples and most importantly being my best friend for so long.

A couple weeks ago they threw me a baby shower. Since we all have such busy and different lives it gets hard to get together. No matter what though, whenever we get together it's like nothing has changed. When we're together it's like we were when we were back in high school. That's what true best friends is. I love getting together with them and seeing how each of our lives has unfolded and continues to unfold.

It was so fun to see everyone again. I got some adorable gifts, little jr. is sure going to be stylin'. Sure appreciate all that they do and their friendship. 

Not all the 7 was able to come and I missed them all.

Park City

Daniel and I have a lovely garden and here are some of the delicious fruits we benefit from. We bought cucumber plants and the yellowish ones were are first batch and as you can tell their a wee bit of odd color and Honkers.. but still tasty. The green one was our next try and as you can tell it looks more like a cucumber. We are also growing zucchini, squash, green peppers, and annehime peppers.

We get so many so we took them up to THE FAMILY REUNION in PARK CITY!!!

Park City was a blast and Daniel and I had so much fun and it was so fun to be with everyone (we missed you kentuckians) Thanks so much MOM & Dad for putting on such a fun reunion for us all and for all that you did. I keep reflecting back on how much I miss being with everyone and wish we could still be up there vacationing it up. Thanks to everyone for all the delicious meals, entertainment, and laughter.

They were so cute together.. I'm going to miss watching them play together.

Park City we will Miss You!

The Nauvoo Trip was a great success and a lot of fun. It was my first family vacation with the Stephens and it was so fun getting to know them more and being apart of this great experience with them. I am so grateful for the sacrifice of the pioneers and the examples they are in my life. I loved learning more about the history of the Saints and the church.

Up inside the Red Brick Store where the Relief Society was first established. The girls had our own mini relief society meeting here. It was a beautiful experience as Carole shared her testimony of the divine work of Women and the history of those sisters who gave up so much for the Lord. It truly was a testimony strengthener to me as well as I listened to her speak and the Spirit that was there filled my entire soul.

I'm so happy and so grateful that I am married to this Good looking Man for Time and all Eternity!!

Summer Fun

This year up at the Uintah Mountains there weren't many fish, too many mosquitos, and cold cold nights but with all that I loved every minute we had to be up in one of God's greatest creations. I love the outdoors especially the mountains.. it seriously is gorgeous up there and the nights are amazing you can see every star in the Universe and i get to snuggy up close to my Man!

This year I got to try something new and adventurous and exciting. Daniel taught me how to shoot a shotgun. I'll be honest I really wanted to do it but at the same time I didn't. I was scared of the loudness and that it would jerk back and hurt me.. I knew the shock would come and I was scared of that moment to happen. I kept hesitating and Dan kept urging me come on babe you can do it, I promise it doesn't hurt. Finally after about what seemed an hour I finally shot the gun. and like I said that moment of surprise of loudness and the force of the gun scared me right out of my pants. I stuck to the little pistol after that.. But then I did a few more times later when we took some of the kiddos.

Daniel's Birthday was that week as well. It was fun even though he was at school all day studying his little brains out. Kelsi and I made his cake the night before. For his birthday I themed it to be a Few of his Favorite things and one of his favorite candy bars is Reece's so I made him a Reece's cake. It was really rich but I thought it was delicious. I put the cake in the freezer with a note on the outside don't you dare peek inside of me or else your dead. Then inside the freezer i taped Black construction paper and put food in front of the cake pans so he couldn't see what was inside with another note saying "I thought i told you not to peek!" He had a kick out of that. so he did try peeking the little sneak.

The following week Daniel went and took his boys to scout camp down at Moab. He had a lot of fun with the boys as well as them with him. He wore them right as they went biking throughout the wilderness.

One Wedding, One Fun Trip

Howdy everybody, I have another exciting post to write about so I thought I would come back after 3 weeks.

One new adventure, two blistery feet (but strong as ever now), three awesome people exploring D.C., four types of transportation (plane, feet, metro, and car), five wonderful days spent w/the hubbs!! It was the first time Dan and I had flown together and it was really our very first trip together other than our honeymoon.

After long weeks of anticipation, today was the day we found out the gender of our little miracle!! little baby could not sit still but we was very photogenic and cooperated the majority of the time. Of course it knew we were trying to figure out what gender it was and kept teasing us. The nurse was very sweet and took lots of pictures for us to take home. Sitting there watching the screen was amazing, to think a wee little one is inside of me...unbelievable! It did make it more real after seeing it move around.

Daniel and I both knew all along what it was going to be (daniel knew before we were married supposedly) I however at first thought it was a girl because 1. I could not picture myself with a boy 2. I had dreams it was girl 3. AND mainly I would get a lot of little adorable girls clothes from the girl I nanny. BUT deep down inside of me I knew it was a boy and especially through the ultra sound before we found out I knew it was and we are BOTH SUPER EXCITED!!! He can be the man of the house when daniel is gone and protect all his other future siblings, of course so Daxton can have a playmate and they'll be best of friends!!! :)

We do have a name picked out already.. It's a secret till he's Born!! Sorry but we like to keep things a surprise:)

One Year Anniversary

Sunday May 15, 2011 was Daniel's and I one year Anniversary. Yup folks we've been married for a whole year now can you believe it's been that long?? I sure can't! We have had one fun amazing year and I can't wait for years to come I get to spend with my darling Husband.

Daniel was so cute on Thursday he called me up and told me he had something to give me and that he Possibly could not wait until Sunday to give it to me. Lately I have been craving fudge and I had mentioned that to him twice in different scenarios... He told me had gotten me something that I knew I've been wanting for awhile YUP he bought me FUDGE!! To top it off he got 3 different kinds. I almost ate the entire thing in one night.

We have had some discussions about the Holy Ghost lately and how to better recognize it in our lives and then act upon those promptings so he bought me a book Called Whisperings of the Spirit by Nancy Murphy. I can't wait to read it. He then told me that there was something that he found helped him during stressful situations and then he pulled out the book As a Man Thinketh by James Allen. It is a very very short read and is quoted by many apostles and highly recommended read. Anyway I was quite surprised with these gifts because we had told each other we weren't getting each other presents because well for those who don't know....

We are going to Washington D.C. in July to see our lovely friends Steve Dent and Liz Franco get married here.....

Why not take advantage of the opportunity and include our vacation into the deal. We can not wait. Every night before I go to bed I tell daniel "WE'RE GOING TO D.C." After much persuasion throughout the year to go on a trip together We Are FINALLY going! hooray.

Okay so now my part of the Anniversary... I am a Maker.. seriously it is in my blood! I was born and raised a Maker.. I make alot of things by hand and so when it comes to gifts I make them. As a child I loved the story Love You Forever

So I made Ticket stubs that had the lullaby the mom would sing to her baby boy

instead of Babe I also put Lover, Eternal companion, Best Friend and Cuddler.

On the back of each ticket stub it described what each ticket was good for. I have always thought it would be so fun to relive our very first Date together exactly. Our first date we ate Zupas on Trax and went to the Bee's Game. On the Best Friend Stub I told him this was good for travelling down memory lane for one date out with your best friend. Then i gave him the tickets.

This was a fun little thing I made that described all the things I love about Daniel!

For the Babe ticket Stub I gave him this Love Journal for us to put in any fun mementos or keepsakes we've kept, memories, and write love letters to one another.

The cuddler was good for a movie to get all snuggled up and cozy together. Daniel loves Massages so I gave him ticket stub good for one massage.

The Eternal Companion ticket stub was good for one night out on town to the Salt Lake Temple to do temple sealings together. I thought it would be fun to reflect upon our own temple sealing we had a year ago. It was such a memorable occassion for me and I am so grateful I am sealed to Daniel for time and all Eternity. It was a really fun evening and afterwards Daniel took me to Benihana's!! mmm mm delicious! We had some very entertaining high schoolers at our table and a very entertaining Asian waitress and Chef :)

Let's Go Fly a Kite! Let's Go Fly a Kite and send it Soaring.... Well that is exactly what Daniel and I did on Sunday. We took our never been opened kites we bought when we were dating to the park on a most Blusterious Day as Whinnie the Pooh would say. We had a lot of fun trying to get them to stay up in the air for longer than 5 secs. The wind would blow like crazy then all of sudden stop and then pick up again. It was pretty hysterical i am sure in the eyes of other beholders. At the end of our flying however we managed to get them up way high in the sky and stay up there for while.

We ended the night with a game of Phase 10 and we even tied to make it an even special occassion for us both!
We sure had a wonderful most Glorious Anniversary!

For Christmas last year I wanted to do something special for Daniel. I thought about painting a picture from his mission but I couldn't find any picture that would be cool painted. Instead, since Daniel loved his home in Far West, UT and talks about his memories all of the time.... a brilliant idea came to my head to paint a picture of his home. I got a copy of the picture from his Mother and started plugging away at the painting. However, last semester was oober busy for me and I didn't have much time to work on it and I had to be careful for him not to see it, so it was really hard to even work on it. When I gave it to him it was not finished. Four months later and Waalaa..

I also made this frame years ago at the Quick Water Ranch up in Idaho. As you can see on the painting there are two little streak marks.. well I was glueing the canvas onto the frame and the glue had dripped down so i'm still quite not finished, since now I have to fix that and lighten up the rainbow still.

Easter Sunday

For Easter Sunday we went up to visit Dad and Shae since mom, parks, and lex were in Texas and Shelby and Brandon were in Europe. We also brought along Kelsi and our Beer.....

We thought we might change tradition a little bit. :0

Dying eggs was such a delight writing secret messages to each other with white crayon.. After we finished decorating our eggs we went outside to find the chickens and this is what we found.. A Miracle Chicken.

We hid the eggs for Shae to find and she had so much fun finding them.. as did Kelsi and I helping her find them. I hid this egg and it was the first one Shae found.. blimey.

After we finished the Easter Egg hunt we went outside to capture the chickens to put them back in their cage. It was Dan, Kelsi and I and so the three of us took off with determination to catch these little suckers. However, to our dismay they would not come to us nor were they very easy to catch. Two were captured and then it was the rooster. The rooster could not be caught by any of us. Dad was hysterical watching us attempt to capture him. Finally he came out and cornered him next to the steps and so Dad had the triumphal catch. It sure was a great Easter!

One Lovely Sunday Afternoon Kelsi came over for dinner... We love it when she comes. We made our favorite Calzones and Daniel made his most famous cookie recipe however, it didn't turn out because he uses shortening in his cookies and since we don't have shortening we had to use butter.. Unforbidden in his cookies. Since the recipe makes so many we decided to make jumbo size cookies.. with all sorts of ingredients on top. :) YUM

Well they turned out looking really cute and fun but they tasted more of bread than a cookie I think if we had added lots more chocolate it would have tasted GREAT!

So for April Fool's day I really wanted to do something to Daniel, so I got up before him to make him breakfast but I started getting a guilty feeling inside of me about doing a mean prank.. cuz dan usually takes his breakfast on his way to work so i'd feel bad having him be hungry all day. Instead I made pancakes with raisins inside of them, he doesn't really like raisins but will eat them. And I put one huge chocoloate chip in one pancake. I made some tang and added lots of salt to it. Well he didn't even eat my surprise chocolate chip pancake and he thought I was trying to make him eat healthier by putting raisins in the pancakes. sheesh. Then he asked me if i was a little tired this morning. I said why and he was like because you put salt in the Tang instead of sugar and he was worried that I'd come home and drink the tang and spit it everywhere not knowing that i had put salt instead of sugar.. Sheesh sheesh.. So my pranks didn't really work. DARN.
That night we went to Shelby and Brandon's house and brought homemade Pizza....

We gave a slice to Brandon.. he was nervous of course to try it but HE LOVED IT!! THis isn't your ordinary pizza.. we like to call it FOOL's Eye Pizza. It's actually cake for the dough with frosting for the pizza sauce, white chocolate and coconut for cheese and fruit by the foot pepporoni. Scrumdiliumcious

So many things have been happening lately and school just keeps me so busy that I finally have a time to tell you all what has been going on in our crazy but fun lives. This picture dates back clear to Feb. 21 President's Day, yup I even remember the exact day, it was monday. Daniel and I got to spend the whole day together (which on a Monday is crazy talk) up in Ogden, UT. He has been dying to take me to Maple Garden a chinese restuarant in Ogden. He says it's the best Chinese restaurant ever... I've had a hard time finding a decent chinese restaurant since being back from China.. It was fabulous!! If you're ever up that way I highly recommend the Seshwan chicken:) We received our fortune cookies.. Mine informing me that I have great news I will soon tell.......

Here's how it all began......
I came up with an idea to have dinner with the family and Daniel came up with the brilliant idea to have Chinese dinner and make fortune cookies for everyone with their own fortune. Side note do not ever make fortune cookies by hand unless you have the perfect oven. This is how our sad looking cookies turned out miniature tortillas. Daniel spent hours trying to perfect them but this was the best we could get. Taste= magnificent!!

So with our poor little fortune cookies up we went to South Jordan to start making the most Amazing (since China) feast yet. Mom made orange and sweet and sour chicken I made sticky beyond sticky fried rice, daniel made most delicious jouza or pot stickers.

Dinner was over and we brought out our surprise.. Daniel handed everyone a fortune cookie. Each took their turn to read theirs out loud.. Dad got you will come upon many hills and bumps in your journey (biking). Mom couldn't even read hers so she had Lexi read it.... which said Beware this Halloween for a new "Mummy" will be here. Mom laughed and said oh yup i'm going to be a mean mom. We forgot to to give one to Shae so daniel hurry and made up a fortune to write and she signed what it said. No one could understand what she said but only got out two letter "N" and "T" finally brandon said Auntie?? It immediately hit Shelby repeating AUNTIE!!! A second later this was the reaction of beholders......

Trip To ITALY

Daniel and I went on our very own private trip to Italy. I surprised Daniel with 2 tickets a month ago to fly to Rome Italy. We arrived and we went straight to the world's famous Cafe "Cassidy's Cafe" it's known for its eloquence and beautiful scenery and of course it's Top class menu. This isn't your any type of Cafe, we arrived and immediately went straight to work. We were given a slab of dough and told to roll it out into one big circle. Once done we were given a variety of ingredients... a homemade delicious pizza sauce, green peppers, onions, black olives, tomatos, pepporoni's, mozzerella cheese, parmesan cheese. We spread the sauce on half of the dough and sprinkled our desired ingredients on top. Next we folded over the non-food side and pinched the sides together making two Enormous Calzones. When they came out of the oven I could not believe my eyes, it was as if someone had put steroids inside them. ( I have pictures to attest). Along with our Calzones we had the most delicious breadsticks, they had bit of sweet taste to them. We were also treated with the most excellent drink in town, Sparkling Cider. It was candlit dinner with a beautiful orchestra playing in the background. Once dinner was over we had to make a quick stop at a local store to buy a few essentials for our next activity. We stopped and got some free icecream (Birthday coupon). Since we were in Italy we wanted to take part of all the things Italy is most famous for. With Michelangelo in the mist we decided to paint self portraits of one another with cheap water color and acrylic paints (some colors were already dried up that's how cheap they were). It was fun to see each other's masterpieces. The final activity of the night was we caught a night showing under the stars on the most comfy lounge chairs and watched Italian Job. Italy we will miss you.

This wasn't even half of it.

Fun Memories over Christmas Break

Here is what our Christmas looked like in our small little

Granny and Gramps 60th Anniversary. It was a fun memorious occassion to be with them on their special day.

Cute Lydia at Church. I caught her redhanded attempting to fish out some goldfish. However, she was unsuccessful as she would not let go of her new friend Barbie.

Parker and I have a traditional close up picture of us at Temple Square, pretty soon he'll be taller than me. Wait he already is darn it. It was so fun to be with the family over Christmas and I like that I'm posting right now about Christmas so I can reminisce once again.

Daniel and I drove all the way to Arizona to help his brother move. It was a fun but short trip. I gotta a little wacky on the drive there, I mean who wouldn't, after 9 hours of driving and then hauling Matt's clothes after clothes after clothes and more clothes and a few boxes. :)

On the way back we drove with Dan's parents but we took a detour route to see Monument Valley and Part of Arches National Park. It was beautiful, cold but amazing. I want to go back this summer and actually hike around when it's nice and warm :)

We decided to stop and do a small hike up to see the Famous Delicate Arch (ya the sign said it was like a mile ya right) But I guess hiking in boots with ice all over the path makes 1 mile seem like eternity.

So I think since it's been 6 months since I last posted I thought it'd be a good time to post once again.

I've been married now for 9 months and 3 days in counting. I'm almost an old folgy in the married world. It sure has been a lot of fun so far.

Daniel started his first semester at BYU this last fall, got accepted to the Strategy Program as a transfer student. But this January a couple days before it was the last day to add/drop classes he decided to change his major. Yep, he's following in my dad's footsteps except for not being an actual CPA. (i'm sure dad is still happy someone in the family is following his footsteps and doing accounting) Not only is he majoring in accounting but he has decided to go down the path of the PHD world. Daniel the professor can you imagine. So he's actually following his brothers footsteps. He's really excited about it and loves his classes. I told him the first day he teaches he has to go into class with his hair spiked straight up, pants pulled up past his belly button, with big huge grandpa glasses and suspenders and talk in a high naisly voice and talk about his championship records as chess player.
Me, well I'm majoring in Community Health and will graduate next fall! It's so close but yet so far, i can hardly wait.

We're pretty busy people studying and studying some more.

Camping in the Uintahs

Every year Daniel and his family go camping up in the Uintah Mountains. Now our family hasn't ever been the camping type, the last time I remember going camping with the family was at our family reunion at Palisade lake when our tent flew into the lake and grandma and grandpa were trying to grab it as we were clear across the other side of the lake watching the entire thing. I've always loved camping and embraced the times I got to go camping either with friends or with girls camp. Daniel and I could not wait till we could go, we were counting down the days, and being in school we couldn't wait to get a break from all the stress. The weekend before we bought me my very own fishing pole:) The drive isn't too bad but once you get up in the mountains it's pretty bumpy, but for some reason when we crossed over into wyoming the roads were nice and paved, so we knew when we were in Utah as we were bouncing all over the place. The place his dad and his grandpa picked out is very secluded covered with trees that stretch out to the sky for miles. There is plenty of space to put up our tents and there is a river that runs right behind our campground. It is beautiful up there. We got there around 9 pm and the moment I stepped outside I was covered with mosquito bites. We were in our tent setting up our stuff and i kept telling daniel i got a mosquito bit on my nose and i think it's swelling up. Since it was dark he couldn't really tell and so he got our flashlight and held close to my nose to check it out. He said he coouldn't tell, but I swear it was inflamming. We had a little outhouse and they even have a camping chair toilet, the bad thing is if you're there for a long time, your little hieny will be covered with little red bites everywhere. Which happened to me. :( We went up to a lake and fished the entire day. I caught about 8 fish... it was my first time ever real fishing and I was smoking everyone even Daniel. He wasn't too happy about that and kept telling me it's because he taught me everything. right!;)

I hated taking out the hook, it was always so gross because sometimes the fish would start to bleed and it'd get on me. plus the fish was always so slimy so it would wiggle all over the place.

Don't mess with this dude, you don't want to ruin his concentration, he was just so focused on trying to beat me in catching the most fishes.

Playing some horseshoes, Kristies threw it straight up in the air and I was running for my life because it was heading straight for my head and she ringed my ankle instead. It was a brutal hit and I got a nasty bruise from it. Let's just say we are getting plastic horseshoes for her for next year!This is Kate, and she loves dirt! I was watching her sit on the ground and pick handfuls and handfuls of dirt and pouring it on top of her head.

My first trip with the in-laws was a success with lots of fun and laughter.

Our first Summer together as Husband and Wife

Our trip up to Park City was quite the treat, no one was around so we basically had the whole place to ourselves. Daniel with his sweet persuasive skills got us Free breakfast everyday, an upgrade of hotel, and $90 credit every night to Ruth's Diner(I think that's the name of the place.) I felt like a queen eating all this gormet food. In the morning we would eat and would be full till dinner. A glass of orange juice cost about $3.00 so we got a pretty good steal of a deal :)

Look at that face.. daniel, dang your good looking, I would have to say he needs to try out to be a model. Roaming main street in Park City we stop in shops and try on some funky outfits they had. He's not that conservative as some of you may think...

As some of you may know Park City has some pretty fun things to do, excited to start our day adventure and go on the alpine slides, the zip line and maybe some other activites they have. Singing in the car, happy as can be, my competitive drive was starting to kick in and I couldn't wait to get to the slides and show daniel up. Little did we know that in May it's off season and pretty much nothing is opened. If only we were there on the weekend. Instead we ventured off around the Olympic park and had the time of our lives.

Since we didn't get to do any of the fun activities in Park Ciry we found a crater in Midway where we got to go scuba diving. It was my first time ever. I was a little scared at first, but then i got the hang of it and kept going, swimming through hoops and trying to do flips. Daniel was a pro, he didn't need any assistance and about every 5 minutes he was doing some kind of trick.

Well I guess rumors true, once you get married you fall off the face of the earth for a few months and no one hears from you! Also, you loose all your friends, at least that's what i hear.

So Married Life.....
hmm where to I begin?
It's Great, it's Dandy, it's oh so Peachy. You get to be with your best friend and the love of your life every single day, I'd say that's the best thing in the entire world wouldn't you. I can't see why I didn't want to be married before... (if you knew me awhile back, I was totally against getting married. I wanted to see the world, i wanted to accomplish so much, I didn't want some love thing holding me back no siree). well Now I see... I've accomplished so much already and I see the world every single day with my hubby...
oh by the way I have an announcement- today I am officially with the law and state and any written document Cassidy Stephens!!! HOORAY!

One thing Daniel and I always hated doing while we were still dating was saying goodbye at the end of the night, ya we were only a house away but still saying goodbye bites. So the biggest treat was saying goodnight to him and waking up the next morning and turning over and stretching and smacking him right in the noggin. :)

Dang we are sexy

At Thanksgiving point at the UNder the Sea 3D movie with Daniel's Family. We were celebrating all the Birthday's in Feburary.

Hailey's Birthday part we threw for her. She was totally surprised luckily it all turned out even with a few complications with not being able to get inside the house to decorate.

Going up to Ogden to pick out my quilt his grandma and mom make more every newly wed couple.

Rode The Front Runner all the way up to Ogden to eat dinner and go bowling.....

Daniel's friends bailed on us.. but we still had an adventure chucking through the snow walking around town with no car. We did eventually meet up with some other friends and I scobbed Daniel in bowling so it turned out to be a wondrous night

My first Bridal Shower... here I am with lovely mother at the soon to be in-laws shower they threw for me.. It was alot of fun and I even got a little sunburned!

I had to make a coutdown to the WeDDING!! I mean what girl doesn't do that? The only problem is i have been forgetting to take each one off.. I'm so pathetic.

Daniel took me to the Christmas Concert down at the Conference Center.. but right before he started it he took me to our special spot and told me he loved me for the FIRST TIME!!

Daniel and I had a lot of fun making gingerbread houses together. I'm sure you can tell by our personalities who's house is whoose. Daniel was such a perfectionist we spent hours and hours making them, and while he finished his I just kept eating the food and adding more and more stuff. haha

Made ginger bread-creative houses for FHE. We all wrote down an idea in hat and whatever you drew out of the hat, that is waht you had to make. Mine was a diamond ring.

We had other friends in fun creative costumes as well. It was alot of fun. We had lots of food, and we played murder in the dark and more games. It was a great turn out and fun party.

This was Halloween Eve night and my friend from Ukraine came down. I bet you guys could never guess who we were!!! haha. none of us had costumes but we all wanted to dress up so we improvised and thought of being African women (the bushman) hahaha than we all went to classic skating and had a blast. OH how i love classic skating. Kels and I pretty much dominated the floor.

Kelsi and I went to her Ward's Halloween Party. She was a babushuka and I was Prof. Trewlaney. we got A lot of weird looks and questions of who we were.. I thought we looked amazing. We went through a haunted house, made a pumpkin danced to our hearts content ate some treats and home we went.

So my ward had a fun little game going on for Halloween. Each apt. was given 2 pumpkins and there were certain rules you had to follow, but basically you had to steal other people's pumpkins without getting caught and without breaking in. It got really intense, and I mean intense. We had a competition between some guys in our ward hence the sign. I proudly admit I stole all 3 of those pumpkins and one i had help from kels. We didn't win, but we were close.

I was FHE Mom and for our FHE activity we carved pumpkins. Sara and I were pretty proud of our pumpkin.. Sara thinks it looks like Jack, but I personally think it looks more like Kelsi.

Kelsi and I went to a bonfire with some friends in Provo. We drove forever.. and went to a complete desert place. The fire was huge.. we were standing like 20 feet away and It was still boiling. Find kels and i we are in the picture somewhere.

Here I am with my friends in my Ukraine Group. A few of us got together and made some Ukrainian food. It was so good to see everyone again.

My roommates and I put on a Fondu party. . I just think this picture is so cute cuz we are matching so well.. haha Oh and I'm wearing the shirt he gave me from Portugal.

Our last Friend Party before everyone took off to school for the Fall

This last summer the Singles Ward in South Jordan went up to Jackson Hole. We went Water rafting, it was freezing cold, but a whole lot of fun. It was fun to go with a few of my high school friends.

My Friends and I dressed up for the Harry Potter Movie midnight showing. It was a lot of fun and we got a lot of funny looks and a lot of people came up to us and wanted to take pictures with us.

Here we are at the Real Salt Lake Game.. This was in the summer and Daniel got free tickets a lot from his Dad so we got to go a few times!!! This time we invited Shelby and Brandon

This is my roommate Sara.. we had alot of fun together for a semester.

Daniel and I and his friend went hiking up in Ogden. It was Ben Lomond's Peak. It was really hot, but when we got closer to the top, it was pretty cold. There was even some glaciers still on the mountain so to make the climb down faster, we just slid down them.. it was the scariest, but so so much fun.

I dressed up as a cowgirl for school one day because I dared my friend to dress up as an Indian for school.

Playing in the leaves with Ella, apparently she didn't like that very much. haha..

Kelsi, me and My roommate sara.. Kels was basically my roommate too because she was over all the time, which made life so much more enjoyable.

The all dayer with the love of my Life!

I planned the first part of the day and we went sledding. It was such a beautiful day, the sun was shining but when we got to the park all the snow had melted. I was devastated I wasn't going to let my plan get ruined so up we went through cottonwood canyon and kept driving looking for a good place to sled. We ended at the last resort and saw 2 cross country skiers go up the other side of the mountain opposite of the resort. It was perfect and these two skiers had made a perfect trail for us. It was quite tiring climbing up this mountain and every time we stepped we would sink about 2 feet. It was a lot of fun and we rode down for a good 5 minutes and than hiked a good 15.. including our rest stops! ha. We went down a few times and than our last ride down would be the grand finale. We weren't going to crash and we were going to make it all the way to our car. As we were going down we had to make a sharp turn but we couldn't see a thing because of all the snow spraying in our face we crashed into a mound of snow. We continued downward with exceeding speed until i got scared and stuck my foot out to slow us down, but instead it got caught and threw us out of the sled down the hill. I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to wet my pants. Luckily I didn't.

Oh he loves me!

After sledding took him home and I made him my specialty or should I say the Hansen specialty.. egg and ham tortilla. :)

Next we went to Lifetime fitness and played some raquetball and than i skooled him in some basketball... i still have it in me! YES! Than after getting nice and sweaty we jumped into the intoxicated pool. We were notified immediately to get out and all our fun had to end because some little kid had to poop. instead we sweated even more in the sizzling hot tub.

We got all dressed up and Daniel had made me his specialty.. Steak, baked potatoes and a salad. The usual, but oh so delicious. We looked at pictures of him in Portugal and than off we went to Salt Lake City

Here we are right after Daniel confessed his undying love for me and told me I was the girl of his dreams and that he possibly couldn't lose me again. Than he got down on his knee..

Ladies and Gentleman:

I am pleased to announce and welcome Cassidy Hansen back to her Exciting Life "everything you ever wanted to know." I know it has been a long and dreadful five months of anticipation of when she would blog again, but there is no reason to fret any longer because she's back. (can I hear a HOORAH?) Unfortunately to all those awaiting her Ukrainian pictures, you just might have to wait a little longer than planned. One day she will post those . . . oneday indeedy:/

I am alive... to all you bloggers out there I am new to this and have finally figured out the ways of blogging. Although my exciting adventures have come to a cease in the Ukraine, I still am going to post all the extraordinary and crazy experiences I had and went through. First of all, I'd like to thank Makana for, yes, Making my blog for me (which was created in May oops) and I want to apologize for taking so long to post my stories since mainly making a blog was for her benefit. haha:)
As of right now I am currently back from Ukraine and living at home in South Jordan. I was in Ukraine as head teacher for 5 months (but my family always likes to correct me and say it was longer than 5 months, it wasn't). I am planning on working a lot this summer. If you know of any jobs let me know!:) As I look back at my pictures from Ukraine, it seems so weird. It does not feel like I was just there a week ago. It all seems like a dream. I had an amazing experience; it was uplifting as well as a great opportunity to learn a lot about myself. I have many stories, and I would love to share with any of you who are interested. If not you can just look at my pictures that I'll post with the small captions to give you a feel of what I went through. I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to be head teacher and live in Ukraine. I really feel that is what I needed in my life at the moment. Well life couldn't be getting any better. I love my family and I'm having so much fun with them since being home.
